I am importing a car, ive just got the emissions cert out the way. I am not sure where I stand on the car. The light for the air bag is on and wont turn off, im told this will fail the compliance test. Can I not repair this myself ? Does it have to be sorted before being cleared from customs ? How can I get this repaired cheaply ? what are my options ?

cheers.

Hi there,
Once the vehicle is released from the customs and border inspections, it will usually be released back to you and from there you would organise transport and compliance inspection (wof). This is what will fail if the airbag light is on, so it would be up to you to find out what is wrong (fault code) and organise repairs, and then take it for the entry compliance inspection when you are sure it would pass.
