Is the peugeot 4007 and mitsubishi outlander the same car? If I'm buying a 4007 am I getting jap reliability with a European badge

Hi there,
Correct, it would seem that the 4007 is built in Japan on the Outlander platform. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peugeot_4007 I would assume because it uses the Mitsubishi 2.4 engine and driveline it would be just as reliable.
