Hi. We are looking to upgrade to a newer vehicle that we will probably have for 8-9 years.
We are looking at models later than 2007 onwards. Considerations are ease of access for crook backs and knees, reliablity, low cost of ongoing repairs, service costs and good visibilty.
We are considering the Qasqhai (Nice look about it), the ASX (have heard that cost of repair could be higher) or a Rav 4. (higher petrol costs?)
Would you be aware of any major fault in these choices , and is there any other similar model I should be considering.
Any advice and suggestion would be most welcome.
Thanks.

I can't see any reason why the ASX should be any more than an ASX. In our view, both are good vehicles, with the ASX being more of an SUV type vehicle than the Qashqai. Both have CVT transmissions, but they are of the new generation so reliability should be OK.
The Rav 4 does have a reputation for high fuel consumption, plus it will soon be replaced, whereas the other 2 will continue to be current models for a while to come.
Depending on how new you are considering and the budget, the Mazda CX-5 is probably best in class at present, but being a very new model, it will still be relatively expensive.
The Hyundai ix35 and current model Kia Sportage are also both worth considering.
