I'm looking to buy a used 4 cylinder petrol manual station wagon that is reliable, has a 1500cc minimum engine and has space for a mountainbike.I want to pay around $5000, I've seen Peugeot. Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyotas that all fit the bill, but would like to know what the best value would be. What can you reccomend?

Vehicles which have a good reputation are Toyota's Corolla, Nissan's Pulsar and Mazda's 626 or Familia. Some wagons are smaller than others but you could drop the back row seats and remove the bicycles front wheel and lower the bicycles seat to get the bicycle to fit. In this price range the mileage will be a bit high but you should look for a vehicle with a good service history.
