Hello I'm the biggest Subaru fan , and im looking at buying the above car , only to keep in storage , and one day make some money on .
This car is like brand new , not a mark on the car and only 121000kms , was bought int New Zealand at 6months old by a 82 year old man .
This car should be in a show room , I know these are ugly cars , but I'm such the Subaru fan .and they are very rare , I'm sure this one would be the best anywhere inthe world.
The guy wants $9000, do you think this is to much?

This car is really becoming something of a classic car today. Given the low mileage and history, it's worth whatever you're willing to pay. The difficulty in valuing a car such as this is that there's nothing else to make a comparison with.
I also have an interest in classic cars (not Subaru, but I can appreciate your interest), and I've paid prices for cars in the past that I sometimes thought were excessive to get a particular unique model, and I've never regretted it.
Ask 99% of the population and they'll tell you you're crazy to pay that much for a 23 year old car, but if you really want it and can afford it - and the owner isn't negotiable, it's up to you to make the decision.
Having said that, you should only buy this car for your own enthusiastic passion, not because you think you will make money on it, as you may not.
Then again, if only I'd purchased that RHD 1973 Porsche 911RS Carrera I saw for sale when I was in the UK in 1981 for 5000 pounds - it seemed like an outragous figure at the time!

As I said, the value of these is very subjective. The value listed in the dealer Red Book guide is about $3k, but once a car gets to this age, the Red Book value becomes a bit irrelevant. You could try a professional valuer, but being such an unusual car, they're likely to say the same as I'm saying. It's probably not the sort of car a Subaru dealer could put a value on either.
I've just spoken with a contact at Subaru, who is in agreement - in other words, it's worth what you're prepared to pay. FYI, he did point out that there's en even lower mileage one for sale, which is slightly cheaper, but it is auto not manual.
See this listing .
I'm sorry we can't be more specific, but it's not your run of the mill 2007 Toyota Corolla.

Thanks I can see where you are coming from .
Also found out there was only 98,000 ever made world wide , so guess will be a very rear car.
Also got the price down a little more, so now a very happy vortex owner , and my first classic.
Thanks
Raymond
