Hi there. I'm looking at buying a Nissan Tino Hyper 2.0L 1999 but I've heard there are sometimes problems with the Hyper CVT Transmission? Could someone please tell me what these problems are and if I should avoid this model entirely?

You should avoid the Nissan Tino fitted with a CVT transmission. Not all models have CVTs and some 1.8L versions have a traditional four-speed automatic which is the preferred option. There are numerous parts that have been known to fail inside the CVT and the common one is the internal belt failure.

The CVT transmission is costly to repair and in some cases the complete gearbox will need replacing.
