Hi, we are looking at buying a first car for our teenage daughters and have found two vehicles that appear to suit, either a 2004 Ford Fiesta 25Km for $9K or a 2006 Suzuki SX4 120Km for $11.5K, the later seems to have better specs but the higher K's are my hesitation, would those K's be ok?. What are your thoughts?

In this case the Ford Fiesta with the low mileage is the better option.

Look for a vehicle with less than 80,000kms on the speedometer in around the 2006 year.

A good, traceable service history will be good too.

You should also consider the 1500cc (1.5L) Mazda 2/Demio and the Suzuki Swift 1.5L as well.

Ok, now the dealer after your comments has dropped the suzuki down to 9K, is that reasonable price?

The price is more in line with what it should have been in the first place but I stick with my previous comments that the lower mileage vehicle is the better option in this case. The lower mileage will help when it comes time to resale the vehicle too.

You should consider the vehicles I have previously mentioned as the Suzuki Swift 1.5L has good looks and is a popular choice and I am sure you could find a low mileage 2006 model for under $12,000.
