I am looking at buying a 2005 Honda Accord Euro that has done 100,000 kms. I was told a few years ago that due to the complexity of the Honda engines buying one that had done over 100,000 kms could be risky, but it seems to me that most cars are pretty complex now. Would buying a highish mileage Honda be any more risky than buying a similar car from a different manufacturer?

Honda product is no more complex than any other, and the Accord Euro enjoys a good reputation for reliability. I wouldn't consider 100,000km high for a 9 year old car, so all things considered this car would seem like a fairly safe bet. Like anything, it depends on how well it has been looked after and maintained so I'd suggest having a pre-purchase inspection, but that would apply to almost any used car.
