HI,

We are about to have our third child so are looking at getting a bigger vehicle to fit three carseats in. We currently have a 2000 Subaru Legacy and three seats wont fit across.
We have been looking at people movers and decided we like the Mazda MPV the best but we are struggling to decide on one because....
We prefer the look and feel of the 2006-07 model over the 04-05 but we can get an 04 for about 8k that has done 70,000km where we have found a 06 model for 11k but has done 148,000km and anything else we can afford in the newer model has done higher kms, is the higher kms a major with these cars?

Also is there such thing as a five seater car that can fit three car seats across the back that is around the 10k mark?

Thanks

As with any vehicle, lower km is the preference. In most cases, it's usually worth sacrificing a year or two for lower mileage, however, when there's a model change, there are usually additional features and improvements which add to the ownership experience and enjoyment, so it's a tougher call to make.
I think 148,000km is higher than I'd like as (depending on your use) with average motoring it won't be long before it reaches 200,000km, which is a major psychological barrier for buyers (if/when you come to sell).
Ideally, if you could find the later model with around 120,000ish, that would be make for a good compromise between age, mileage and model, but it may take a bit of searching.
There aren't really any saloon cars we can think of to recommend that would meet your criteria.
I'd say, in the mean time if you're patient, you should be able to find an MPV that meets your requirements.
