Hi Looking at buying a 2nd hand Kia Rio 2003. Have run it through AA inspection and got history check which has been helpful with deciding. Just wanted to check if you know how long changing ownership takes. History indicates current 2nd hand car dealer is not owner but he has told me where he got it from which is a previous car sales dealer - was a trade in and this guy takes cars off the car dealer. Not sure what to look for as evidence of his ownership. He said he has a VRI completed?

If you're buying from a licensed motor vehicle dealer, you don't really have any need to be concerned that it isn't in his name yet. Being a slightly older car, most main franchise dealers prefer not to retail cars of this age so move them on to wholesalers and non-franchise outlets.
As long as there is no financial security over the car at the time you purchase it, it all sounds quite legitimate.
