Hi! We are looking at buying a new 7 seater in the 8k-12k price range and came across a 2006 Nissan Lafesta ($9900 and 74k km) that seems to tick all the boxes. However after having read quite a bit on this site about CVT we are somewhat confused whether it would be a good choice. Another contender would be a 2006 Toyota Wish, same mileage but a little more expensive. Can you give us some advice, please?

The 2.0 litre Wish had a CVT but the 1.8 did not. While the 1.8 might not have as much power, due to the transmission it is likely to be more reliable.
On that basis, I'd go for a 1.8 litre Wish in preference to the 2.0 litre Wish or the Lafesta.
