Hi there, currently my e92 bmw 325ci coupe done about 160k. Its nz new and i am the second owner. It has full service history and still drives like a brand new car. Since once ks get high they are prone to be problematic hence wondering if i should sell? All service including transmission fluid chance done religiously. Last service done 2 weeks ago. No leaks whatsoever. But if i were to keep - what to watch out for? Feels like it should do me another 300k with ease but havent seen many done high ks and am guessing there must be a reason?

There's no right or wrong answer really. However, whichever way you look at it, this is now a high mileage car and not without risk. It's always a help when servicing is carried out to this degree and obviously helps to prolong the life of the car.
Probably the biggest areas of risk are likely to be the transmission, steering and suspension components (shocks, steering rack etc), as well as ancilliary items such as alternator, starter motor, a/c compressor etc, as these items have all been subjected to a lot of use. Also, engine components such as timing chain, water pump etc will also have been subject to wear.
The dilema whether to sell now or spend money to keep the car going is not an easy one to answer. The problem is that the value of the vehicle is reduced due to the high mileage, so you wouldn't get much for it. Conversely, if you sell, you will need to spend a significant amount to upgrade, so are also being hit in the pocket!
I guess, if the budget runs to it, upgrading to a newer, lower mileage car is the sensible thing to do as it would be lower risk and less likely to let you down.

Thanks for the reply. Having very well maintained and mechanic mentioning being spotless - i'd just keep it and try its potential. See how far it can pull before it gives up. So far it has been really good.

Yes, I don't blame you. They're a very nice car and I guess the fact that you've been consciencious about servicing and maintenance has proved that this is the secret to keeping any car running reliably for longer.
It would be good to set yourself a challenge and see how long/how many kms you can get out of this car with strict maintenance. Keep us posted!
