Hello,

I am looking at a Nissan Patrol VRGY60. The R part of the model designation signifies it came with a TD42 Engine.

The Car Jam report shows the correct VIN as per the photos the Owner has sent me but has it with a TD 27 Engine which is completely different and I doubt a GY or GQ was ever fitted with one.

Once I can confirm the engine number of the engine in it matches the Nissan Data Plate is it possible to get the online info corrected?

I want this vehicle for its running gear and one day will use the engine and gearbox in another vehicle, I do not want any hassles with it later on because of what apprears to be a simple typo.

Thanks in advance.

All the online vehicle history reports extract this info from the NZTA database, so it's not the fault of Carjam.
To my knowledge the Patrol was never fitted with the 4 cylinder TD27, so unless the vehicle came from some obsure market that may have had it, I'd say the NZTA database is wrong and that someone incorrectly entered the engine designation when the vehicle was imported.
Yes, you should be able to get this resolved by contacting NZTA, however if you are purchasing the vehicle to dismantle for its running gear, I'm not sure that it's an issue for you.

Thank you. My main concern is that if I use the engine and gearbox in another vehicle and am asked to prove where they came from.
