Hi I'm looking for a new bigger vehicle for our family and trying to find out more about these two vehicles in terms of reliability and efficiency - can you please give me some advice regarding these vehicles - which would you recommend over the other, or would you recommend something different? We're looking at the 1700cc 2004 stream and probably similar year for the wish - aiming to spend maximum of about $8000.

Either of these vehciles would be good choices. If you are considering a Wish, the 1.8 would be our preference as it has the more reliable Corolla running gear with the 4 speed automatic transmsion, which we would prefer to the 2.0 litre with the CVT auto.
The other vehicle you could consider would be the Mazda Premacy.
