We are looking at purchasing a VW Golf and would like to know the difference between GT, GTI, FSI and TSI please. Also, our daughter is going to purchase our Toyota Starlet Glanza from us. 1996, 204000 k's - what would it be worth. Many thanks.

Depending on what year Golf, the differences are basically that the GT offered a sporty spec level, but with lower powered engines than the GTI - either the 1.4 TSI twincharger engine (turbo and supercharged engine) or the 2.0 litre FSI (Fuel Stratified Injection), which is a non-turbo engine.
The late model GTIs have a 2.0 litre turbo-charged engine.
Most GTs on the market in New Zealand are Japanese imports with the 2.0 FSI, although Volkswagen New Zealand have imported a small number of GTs with the 1.4 TSI in the past.
Generally speaking, think of the FSI as normally aspirated and TSI as forced induction (either turbocharged, supercharged or both).
It's very difficult to put a value on a 19 year old Starlet with 200,000+ kms on the clock. It depends entirely on condition, history, whether any engine reconditioning has been done, any rust etc. If it's all good, the value may be around $2,500 - but it's very hard to say for sure (especially sight unseen).
