Hi , I'm wanting to buy a vehicle that is able to tow a digger around the 2 tonne mark on a braked trailer. What could recommend that is suitable for this plus as a daily diver to take the family in?

You don't say whether you are looking at new or used, or what price range. However, if the digger is around 2.0 tonne, plus the weight of the trailer, there won't be many older vehicles (other than large SUVs) that would be up to the job, so I'll assume you're looking at new or late model.
Many modern utes such as the Ford Ranger, Mazda BT-50, Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara etc would have tow capacities which would be up to the job. The comfort of most late model double cab utes is up there with many cars, so unless you want a large SUV I think this may be your best option.

A ute such as the Nissan Navara or Toyota Hilux Double Cab is probably still a good option. The large SUVs in this price range are likely to be quite old and with high mileages.
