Hi there,

Just wanted to know what is the process with regards to the registration if we intend to sell our car privately.
As the seller do we need to any paper work before handing over the keys to the new owner?
we know WOF has to be current as well as rego. Apart from that anything else to be done ?

For doing rego(if it is expiring soon), how many days does it need for the rego process to be done before it reaches us & is ready to be put on the car.

Hi there,
With a private sale you can sell the car with any amount of registration and wof days on it.
The more recent the wof and rego, the easier it will be to sell. I think it may take around 5 working days for the rego label to come in the mail if you renew online. Instant if you go into a centre and renew it.
It is good to get the new owner to change the ownership online before driving away. Or at the least you can go online and complete the (i have sold a vehicle) section.
