Hi I am looking to buy my first car just to be used for short trips throughout the city I have around $6000 to spend.
Right now I am considering two options:
The first being a 2005 Toyota Vitz 1300cc listed for $5000 that has done just over 100,000KM. My only concern is that this car has a CVT transmission, which I have read about the high costs to replace and the limit lifespan of.
My second option being a 2004 Toyota Ist 1300cc that is a four speed automatic which has done 85,000KM and is listed for $5950.
I am unsure which would be the best option, as it seems all toyota vitz within my budget seen to have CVT transmission. I am wondering whether this is something I should be concerned about.
Thanks

Hi there,
You are right, the cvt transmissions of cars around these years are a disaster and we recommend against buying one. Honda jazz and fit are the same.
So my pick would be the ist with the 4 speed auto.
