I bought a second hand car on the 24/11/15 with a WOF that expires on 23/10/16. When I got the car checked by my mechanic a week later, he pointed out that the rear tyre had de-laminated resulting in a "bubble" on the tyre. He said it was possible that it could blow at any time. He was surprised that the car had passed its WOF.
Does the WOF check the tyres for abnormal wear, like bubbles or other signs of de-laminating?
If this was supposed to be picked up in the WOF inspection, who is liable to pay for a new tyre? I bought the car from a Registered Motor Vehicle Trader who used an independent WOF inspector.

Hi there,
In this case, I would take the car straight back to the dealer, it is their responsibility to ensure the car is in a reasonable condition and lasts.
It will be up to the dealer to pursue the wof agent if they wish, but should still fix your tyre
in the meantime.
Wof involves a complete inspection pf the tyre, not just the tread depth.
