Hi,

Due to requirement of transporting 6 ppl when family come to visit, I am in the market for an MPV and currently have a Honda Accord Euro 2L.

Budget is set from $7-9K, year is 07+, mileage is under 100kms. Will be mainly used to travel to daycare and work but will also use it to travel around the North Island when family come to visit.
From all the posts Ive read, Ive narrowed it down to 3 and would like your expert opinion on reliability, operating/maintenance cost, and what to steer clear from. The 3 cars are

1. Toyota Wish 1.8VVTI - as previous post
2. Honda Stream
3. Mazda Premacy

Any input you provide will be greatly appreciated and will assist in deciding what vehicle to purchase.

Thanks

Hi there,
These are smaller 7 seaters and the very back seats are only comfortable for the kids.
The Hondas seem to be sporty while being very good on fuel and reliablity, but all are pretty good choices.
A few things to look out for though. The Honda 1.8 looks to have a standard transmission, while the 2.0ltr has a cvt, which I recommend talking to a tranmission specialist about to see if they suffer from the same complaints as the Fit.
The Wish 1.8 looks to have a standard transmission which is good, the 2.0ltr FSE engine with the cvt transmission may not be ideal.
The Premacy comes with 4 engine combinations with standard 4/5 speed transmissions.
