Hi there, I've been looking at a few 2006 Honda Stepwagons (2.0L). I've never owned a Honda before and there are not much reviews on this model. There are two unanswered questions in my mind.
Is this model reliable?
What is the maintenance and repair cost like for such a vehicle compare to say a Toyota?

Kind regards,

Hi there,
These wagons are based on the Honda Civic, which is very reliable and cheap to run.
The 2ltr has a standard transmission as opposed to the 2.4 which has a cvt, so this is good.
I think over all this vehicle will be a good pick.
I recommend getting a pre purchase inspection to make sure the quality of vehicle you are getting is satisfactory.

Hi Cade,

Thank you so much for that. I've heard that Hondas are designed to be reliable only up to 150,000km. Is this true even with good service?

Cheers,

Hi there,
Some people do say that Japanese cars are designed for a life of ten years and then they move on, this is when we most likely buy them in nz at an affordable price. So naturally with any car, the risk is a little higher that things may go wrong. However most cars are good for 200,000km, but I reccomend trying to stay under or around the 100k mark.
