I am looking at buying a Nisson Wingroad 2007. 113000km, chain driven, tiptronic priced at $8000. It has been equipped with a body kit and 17 inch rims but those 2 features aren't important to me. My question is more about the chain feature and the tiptronic. Are they reliable and not expensive?. I am looking for a reliable vehicle that is cheap to run, without things breaking down too often and will not cost too much if needing repairs? How would the Nissan match up against a Toyota Corolla Sedan of a similar age? Thanks

Hi there,
The chain driven engine is very common now days and I see no issue with this.
However the transmission may be a CVT (1 speed) and these have been known to give some issue in a wide variety of vehicles. I haven't heard specifically heard of transmission issue in the wingroad, but I recommend speaking to a transmission specialist in your area to offer more insight. And offer any warning signs too look for.
