Countrylass

We are looking at purchasing a vehicle to suit 2 adult 2 children,

Top priorites are safety, efficiency (do about 500 km a week in and out to town (5km round trip for work/kindy/school),also work commitments include driving open road to Waiouru during winter (hence ice and snow potential) and sometimes gravel road, and need to holiday with bikes and trailer carrying firewood.

Budget is about $30,000.

Can you also comment on buying trademe versus dealer....

Hi there,
I think a small/ medium SUV may be an option to look into.
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/mazda/auction-1054569810.htm something like this?.
Or a Mazda CX-5 is more a medium car. Mazda's seem to tick all the boxes recently, a very popular option. Maybe Kia Sportage, Hyundai ix35/ Tucson, and Nissan Xtrail, most come in diesel or petrol options. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/nissan/auction-1048772264.htm
