I'm currently looking at buying my first car and am currently looking at a second hand Nissan Tiida 2004 sport that has done 147,000 km. Can you please give me some advice on whether this is too many km and an overall view on this type of car? thanks :)

Hi there,
We recommend finding a car with the lowest km's possible that you can afford, these km's are fairly acceptable for a 12 year old car.
The car itself seems to be a very popular option and there are many around.
The main area for concern will be the cvt (one speed) transmission, they are mostly reliable but can have issues. A common complaint is a shudder, which can usually be fixed with a fluid change and an additive. However more serious problems can be costly to repair. I recommend getting the vehicle inspected (pre purchase), and particular attention to the transmission operation.
