I currently have a 2009 v6 Hyundai Sante Fe (petrol) and am having trouble with it coping pulling my lightweight caravan up hill (1st gear 25km/hr up the Kaimai's with nothing in the caravan at all). I am looking at changing vehicles to something that will cope better with towing but also not too big for driving around town. Can you recommend a vehicle around 2013 that would be a good replacement?

Hi there,
It looks like you may need to switch to a turbo diesel with higher torque than your Petrol v6 (335Nm).
The 2013 2.2d Santa Fe is pretty much the best option (436Nm), it has the most torque output and highest towing capacity. Followed by the 2.2d Mazda CX5 (420Nm), Kia Sportage 2.0d, BMW X3 2.0d, and NIssan X-trail. With the X3 and Santa Fe having a 2,000kg towing capacity. This may be a starting point.
