Hi,
I am looking to buy a 7 seater, looking to mainly use it in the 5 seat configuration (we are currently a family of 4) but when the extended family visits, will require the 7 seats for transport around town (short distance). Budget will be up to 15k, and I would prefer something with less than 100kms on the odometer - so I think that may rule out most if not all SUVs.

So, with the above in mind, I am looking for a fuel efficient 7 seater and hopefully low maintenance as well. I have narrowed my search down to either the Toyota Wish (at least a 2009 model) or the Mazda Premacy (at least a 2010 model).

I noticed that all Toyota Wish 2009 or after will have CVT transmission - Are there any issues with the CVT transmissions on 2009 or later models? Any other issues with Toyota Wish that you may know about?

Mazda Premacy seems good, except for the middle seat in the middle row (which seems to only fit a child).

Any other recommendations for a car that can be a 7 seater, fuel efficient, 15k or less and a relatively newish model i.e. 2009/2010 or later.

Thanks!

Hi there,
You are looking at the best options like the Premacy, Odyssey, Wish, Lafesta or Mark-x Zio.
Most vehicles from 2010 onwards have better transmissions or too new to have developed a common problem. The Toyota CVT has not been a topic of complaint through our channels. You may find the same centre seat problem with most of these vehicles, it would be a struggle for an adult to comfortably fit in, but you would have to physically try them all.
