I have a Mazda CX-5 2016 2.5L rated for minimum 90 octane. Is there any benefit to running 95 octane or should I stick to 91?
Hi there,
You may find that with a vehicle designed to us 91, any gains from using 95 are overshadowed by the extra price of the fuel.

Hi Cade,I was always under the impression that a 13_1 compression would require a high octane fuel, but it seems this is not so.Any comments would be appreciated and see the site listed below.
Hi there,
The specs I can see list the 13.1 ratio 2.5ltr Cx5 as using 91 octane fuel. Overseas vehicles and fuels they are designed to run on may not always translate into NZ scenarios, so it is hard to know weather it crosses over, since they have 87 octane fuel as a base.
