Hi

how can a 2004 1.3l Toyota Passo basically have the same fuel economy as a 1995 1.8l Nissan Primera and a 1995 1.5l Mazda Famillia? Rounded off the fuel economy comes to 10-12Km/l ?

I was really hoping something in the region of 14 - 16 Km/l for the Toyota Passo.

It really depends on the type of use. People often think that because a car has a smaller engine, it will be more economical, however under certain cercumstances (particularly on motorways, hills and the open road), a lower powered car needs to be worked much harder, so will be less economical.
Generally speaking, they will be more economical in low speed city traffic though.
