I have had my Suzuki X90 for over 13 years. The fuel consumption has always been around 300-320km per tank (approx 28lt). About 3 months ago, the fuel consumption has dropped to about 200-230km per tank. The drop was sudden, not gradual. Since I have taken it to an AA auto service and had it serviced, air filter replaced, tyres pressure checked and I haven’t been carrying extra load. It is not leaking either, no oil pile under where I park! So I am at lost as to why it is using so much more fuel. Any idea?

There are a number of possibilities, but start with the simple things. When you had it serviced, were the spark plugs replaced, as worn spark plugs will have an impact?
Is the engine getting up to correct operating temperature too? If the thermostat is staying open and the engine running cold, this would cause higher fuel consumption.

Thank you Andrew. I will get those checked over the weekend, hopefully one of them is the answer to the issue. Cheers.
