I'm looking at a 2005 Mazda Premacy, I understand that these use 95 octane fuel. Do the 4 1/5 star rating (Annual fuel cost of $2,070.00) factor 95 in or are they based on 91 octane?

How does the Premacy compare with a similar year Ipsum in terms of fuel economy?

It is based on the minimum required octane rating for the particular vehicle and the 2005 Mazda Premacy with a 2.0L engine can run on 91 octane fuel and the 2.3L uses a minimum 95 octane fuel.

The Toyota Ipsum 2.4L is rated to use slightly less fuel than the 2.3L Mazda Premacy (around 0.5L/100km difference) however, the 2.0L Mazda Premacy is rated to use around 1.2L/100km less fuel than the Toyota Ipsum 2.4L. But this is a guideline (ideal conditions) as actual fuel usage can vary depending on external factors, driving style and vehicle load and mechanical condition of the vehicle.
