I have a Toyota Rav 4 3 door 2WD 2000, bought as secondhand import from Japan, no instruction manual. Was advised to use 98 fuel but considering going the cheaper route of 91. Was told the 98 would 'protect' the engine and the car would last longer!!!
Please advise. Thanks, 120,000 on the clock now, and going well.

Hi there,
I would recommend you use a minimum of 95 octane. You would find the Rav engine would "pink " too much on 91.
