I had a rental car on my holiday in Tasmania. The car was damaged by vandalists. Unfortunately my car and theft insurance doesn't cover vandalism. The offenders are underaged therefore the car company want the money from me. In my opinion this is totally unfair. Are there any options that I don't need to pay the excees fee of 4200$? Thank you very much.

This is a real problem with overseas rental car companies. If the rental agreement was specific that vandalism wasn't covered, then you don't really have any options. However, if it wasn't mentioned in the contract, and you took out full insurance cover, perhaps there are options, but this may involve a Dispute Hearing in Tasmania if the rental company persues this through the legal system there.
