We have purchased a 2 year old Jeep which was purchased from a dealership. It was bought with the expectation that It was accident free and we had a new wof done and also an AA pre purchase check which didn't mention any accident. The vehicle was put in for a vehicle recall on a fuel filter relay to Jeep and they have found some pretty damning evidence of an accident and some major repairs required. The vehicle was purchase approx. 6 weeks ago. Can we ask for our money back as the dealership said it hadn't been in an accident before and they are appearing at this time to be 'ducking for cover'. the vehicle is clearly not what we had purchased and is also not fit for purpose due to its failing towing capacity which it was discussed why we wanted it.

Hi, thank you for your help. We have over the weekend rejected the vehicle sale and returned the vehicle to Brent Boddy Prestige in Palmerston North for a full refund of the purchase price. We are undecided on whether to take Dispute Tribunal action to recover the few thousand dollars in lost costs, travel and expenses at this time. We would like to thank AA, Jeep North Shore and VTNZ for their help also in assisting us with the paperwork and checks needed. We have also purchased a new 2015 Jeep to replace the other one from a different authorised dealer.
