Hello there, I have a question regarding the passenger rule for the restricted driving license. I understand that relatives who are receiving a social security benefit are allowed to be carried as passenger of a driver on restricted driver license. My question is does the Student Allowance and/or Unemployment Benefit Student Hardship count as social security benefit too for this instance?

Thank you for your time.

No it doesn't. If you do so you will be breaching the conditions of your restricted driver licence.

As a restricted driver there are rules you need to adhere to and the rules are put in place to protect you during the most testing time of your driving career.

If you fail to abide to the conditions of your restricted licence you will not be covered by your vehicle insurance and in the event of an accident you will be liable for the repair to your car and the other car as well as any property that is damaged.

You should sit your full drivers licence test as soon as you are eligible and competent to do so.
