Hi there,

So I've been loaned a car from my dealer while my car is currently being fixed.

Unfortunately the loaner car that I was driving was involved in a traffic collision (the airbags deployed).

I was turning right on a busy traffic-light intersection , when the front of my car was approx on the white line the light was orange but it very promptly turned red and then about 0.5 sec later the collision happened, so I get that it's a bad judgement on my part.
Cops came and took statements from both of us. We exchanged name , license number etc.

I called my dealer up and said they have insurance but the excess is $2000.
So I get that i'll have to pay up to $2000 ...but the thing i'm not sure at is if that excess is for the damage to the loaner car or the other car.
I was gonna ask but they were busy. So I'm just asking your opinion and advise on this.

I get that I'll have to pay for the other driver's car + the loaner car.

The other driver's car is an early 90s corolla done 250,000 KM approx , do you know approximately the value of this car ?

I'm just hoping that the payment won't empty my bank account.

Thanks in advance.

You'll need to check with the dealer, but I would imagine that their insurance policy will be fully comprehensive, therefore your liability would be limited to the $2k excess, which would cover the damage to both vehicles.
