Hi there. I own a 1969 Fiat 500F Coupe. It is mostly a hard top car with a 1 square meter vinyl sunroof which is factory standard. I am considering turning my car into a convertible with a soft top. I am wondering if you could advise me of the legal requirements my car will need to have done to it to allow my car to be certified, roadworthy and legal to drive for the job to been done?

Kind Regards,

Hi there,
This would be a real shame to modify such a classic car.
However, I would use this link to locate a LVV certifier who can talk you through what would need to be done to ensure the vehicle would still be safe for the road.

Thanks for your help. I probably won't go ahead with it. Seems a lot of extra work needs to be done to the car, which means it should probably be left as it's meant to be!
