Find out a few quotes on prices of parts and labour for the exact job and make sure they accounted for any unforeseen troubles. Use this as a reference point, speak to the repair shop about why you think the repair bill was excessive, or ask for a detailed explanation breakdown of the costs involved. If all else fails and you need resolution/ mediation you may need to go to a dispute tribunal, but make sure you have informed the repair shop that you are unhappy and given them the opportunity to explain or address the situation first.
