I bought a car two weeks ago and I took it to be painted, I was showed and told by the painter (and later an WoF inspector) that the car shouldn't had approved the last WoF (july-16) because of the rust in the structure next to the windscreen. How should I proceed? Who should be taking care of fixing it?

Hi there,
The level of recourse will also depend on how you purchased the vehicle. If you purchased from a dealer, it would be best to take it back to them to have the situation remedied (CGA).
For private sales, you have little cover to get the vehicle fixed by the seller.
Rust around the screen can sometimes be tricky, and the full extent of the damage is not often found until the area gets stripped.
