Hello,

I currently have an government issue number plate on my car, which I would like to sell (either as a government plate or turn it into a personalised plate if required). Even though it is a government plate it's combination of letters and numbers appears as a personalized plate.

I would then need to purchase a new government plate for my car.

What is the process and cost to do this?

Hi there,
As far as I'm aware, you can't do anything with a government plate, if you take it off your vehicle it will need to be handed back to the NZTA.
