Hi, we are helping our daughter to find her first car. She will be needing the car for open road driving (works on vineyards) as well as city. We also think that safety should be a consideration with the open road usage. We also need to consider how expensive the servicing of this vehicle will be and her budget of 6.5k. Thanks!!

Hi there,
Thinking inside your budget, the safest cars are likely to be European. Like the 2008 VW Golf, or BMW 1-Series of similar years. A popular Japanese model a Subaru Impreza hatch 2007/08 also has a good safety rating. https://rightcar.govt.nz/used-import-safety-ratings
