Hi there, my car failed the WOF. Its says attend to rear brakes. On the WOF checklist it shows: LR-20 and RR- 45. It doesn't tell me what has to be replaced;ie rear disc pads or shoes or anything. How can I purchase parts without knowing what to replace or fix? What do you recommend I do?

The fault identified is "rear brake imbalance" where there is more than 20% difference in braking effort between the left and right rear brakes. This is a potentially serious fault that should be attended to by a qualified mechanic and not someone who needs to question which parts they need to buy. The repair could be as simple as replacing worn disc pads but could also be more complex and involve freeing up seized caliper slides, sticking pistons/wheel cylinders or even a faulty proportioning valve.

Hi there, the reply above is spot on.

Thanks for that. The person who did my WOF didn't even explain the above terms to me.
