Hi. I took our 2013 Fiat Ducato Motorhome (160,000kms) to a local garage to check an engine light. They reported back that the diesel injectors maybe, faulty and they had removed them for testing. The test report came back with a fail on all 4 injectors so I agreed to replacing them along with the glow plugs. Next I was told that 2 bolts had snapped off during the process of removing the injectors, and an engineering firm had been engaged to remove the broken bolts. This was unsuccessful and now they are removing the head to get better access to the bolts. Should I be charged for the work required to remove the broken bolts ? Appreciate your advice.

Hi this is a tough one.
If the removal and extraction of the injectors was not done with reasonable care and skill and caused this consequential damage you could dispute the costs for rectification. However it may pay to call another Fiat Ducato specialist to see if this is a common issue if it is then it might not have been avoidable.
As an engineer couldn't extract the bolts there may have been an issue that caused the bolts to seize like a water leak into the area the retaining bolts are housed.
