What would cause the car to lose power? Twice the motor has stopped, once going around a roundabout and the other after turning into a driveway. These events happened about 1200kms apart. There was still lights, and nothing showed up as a mechanical fault on the diagnostics when tested by different workshops. When it happened I switched the car off and turned it on and it started again.

There are many possibilities but it's likely to be a wiring problem. An auto electrician will be better suited to find the cause of the cutting out. It won't be an easy fault to find especially that it only occurs every 1200km but the repairer should try manipulating the harness to reproduce the fault.
