Hi, I have an engine knock developed in my 2002 ford laser hatchback. Is this a known fault?

Also, I bought the car just over a year ago from a dealership and have only had minor issues with it, which I have looked after myself. Is the dealership eligible to cover the costs for this? Thanks for your advice!

There are numerous possible causes of an engine knock, ranging from bearings, camshaft, piston slap or even one of the ancilliary items so it's not really possible to guess what it might be.
On a car of this age that was purchased so long ago, I don't think the dealer would have any liability, however, there's nothing stopping you from asking him.
