We have a 2010 2.0 Mazda Axela (Mazda 3) with the istop function. The car has done around 55000km and the istop worked fine initially but now doesn't work and has the istop light flashing continually. I know from research istop depends on a whole heap of conditions being satisfied. The car usually only does short runs which mean battery charge could be an issue but I did a good open road speed 50km run and still not working. We don't really care if it isn't going due to normal short runs but the flashing light is annoying.

The i-stop light flashes if there is a malfunction with the stop/start system. This could be a battery voltage or alternator charge problem. You need to take the vehicle to the Mazda agents to get it checked out. If you have replaced the vehicle's battery recently then you might have the wrong battery type fitted.
