Hi, is an idle speed controller, idle air contoller and thermatic idler the same thing ?
Also where is is situated on an 1.80 DOHC 1990 Mitsubishi Galant ?
Lastly are they interchangeable between a 1990-91 2.00 galant or a 1.8 single cam galant or any other mitsi for that matter ?

Thanks for your assistance.

I believe you are referring to the stepper motor on this vehicle however there is also an air screw on the top of the throttle body. The stepper motor is fitted to the lower section of the throttle body.

They are not all interchangeable and to confirm that the one you are looking at is the same all you have to do is match up the part numbers.

You can also contact Anything Electronic for exchange units - see Anything Electronic website here.

Thankls for the reply, no about the air screw, is the stepper motor mounted directly in front of the air screw or is it at the back and underneath where the throttle cable goes?

Of the two modules I am not sure what one it is?
But once identified it looks fairly easy to unsrew and unplug ?

Also can you give me a price on an exchange unit?

Thanks.

The stepper motor is located at the bottom (the underside) of the throttle body housing. If you remove the throttle body it is much easier to replace the stepper motor.

You need to make contact with Anything Electronic for pricing.
