Have 2000 ford mondeo-had cambelt, belt tensioners and idler bearings replaced in 2010 @94.000 kms-recieved itemised bill which was subsequently paid.

Changed service provider for numerous reasons, mechanic questions about cambelt as no indication under hood about replacement. Current mechanic replaces serpinetine belt, tensioner pulleys and idler pulleys-says these haven't been replaced and should have been.

Question is-have I paid for the same bearings and pulleys twice and if so, were originals replaced at all and further has cambelt been replaced at all?

Vehicle has done less than 20.000km in this time frame.

The cambelt has tensioner and idler pulleys too. The serpentine belt is a completely different item and also has tensioner and idler pulleys.

The previous work was carried out around three years ago and around 20,000km at which time it is likely that there was no fault with the serpentine belt and pulleys otherwise you would expect it would have failed earlier.

It will be difficult to determine if the cambelt has been replaced or not as a visual inspection of the cambelt will not give you a definitive answer. You might need to accept that the cambelt was likely replaced otherwise you will need to pay for the work to be done again to put your mind at rest.
