For nearly one year I am having problem with the front wheel braking system of my Toyota Camry Lumiere 1996, done 123,600 km. Sometimes after driving for a few minutes there is temporary, partial jamming of front wheels for a few minutes. In June, 2013 the front wheels remained partially jammed for a longer time while driving, became very hot and there was smoke coming out from both front wheels. The car was then towed to the mechanic who serviced the front calipers and brake master cylinder and fitted new brake pads. After this repair, the car remained OK for about 4 months but during the last month the fault is reappearing. Now the mechanic says that the brake master cylinder is suspected but I need your advice before spending a few hundred dollars more. Earlier in June, 2012 new brake pads were fitted and rotors repaired because the front wheels were found to be partially jammed at the time of WOF inspection. Please give advice. Thanks

It sounds like you most likely have a problem with the brake master cylinder on your vehicle which is building up pressure in the system. Firstly, the brake pedal free play should be checked for correct adjustment before replacing any parts and another thing to check is whether the calliper pistons are operating correctly and ensure that the calliper sliding pins move freely.
