Hi
It looks like our car is going to be unused for long periods of time (weeks or months) for the foreseeable future. We used to run it almost every day. Do we need to do anything to ensure that it stays in good running order in the meantime? It will be in a garage. It is a 2006 Honda Jazz (petrol) with automatic transmission.
Thanks
Nicola

You should make an effort to at least start the vehicle and if possible take the car for a drive once and a while to get the oil lubricating the internals.

Things to consider doing:

Inflate the tyres slightly more (around 4 PSI) than the recommended pressure to prevent flat spots on the tyres.

Keep the fuel tank 3/4 to full as condensation occurs and the more fuel in the tank the better.

The battery will likely discharge so you could either have an auto electrician fit a battery maintenance charger to the vehicle to keep the battery charged or disconnect the battery (earth cable).

I recommend that you take the vehicle for a good service beforehand.
