I have a 2006 Getz and one tyre needs replacing. I am going to replace two as they are still the original tyres. I would like to know where I must put them. Should I put both at the rear or both in the front. I do mainly town driving however when it gets sunny I might venture out to Timaru. Please may you advise me which is better and why.
Many thanks, Dennis.

It is recommended that the best tyres are fitted to the rear – after a lot of testing the tyre experts have come to the conclusion that if the best tyres are at the front, the vehicle will tend to oversteer (slippery conditions) and this can result in the rear of the vehicle breaking away and the vehicle will go into a spin (lose control).
But if the tyres are worn to a point that it’s a concern to you then you should replace all the tyres – all the tyres should have good grip.
